Guide
Windows app
Aspera now ships a Windows desktop app — same hide-the-app, hotkey capture, and off-device answers as Linux, delivered as an exe installer.
Install (exe)
- Download the Windows installer from pricing after purchase (pick Windows at checkout) — you will get
aspera-product-win.exe. - Double-click the exe to launch the NSIS installer, then follow the prompts.
- If Windows shows a SmartScreen “Windows protected your PC” prompt, click More info → Run anyway (the installer is signed; this is expected for new publishers).
- If your browser flags the download, choose Keep / Allow — the file is ~112 MB.
- Launch Aspera, sign in, and add your model API key when prompted.
On Linux instead?
Aspera is still built for Linux first — see the Linux install guide →
First launch & stealth
The Windows app works the same as Linux: hide the whole app with stealth mode before you share your screen, then capture with hotkeys and read results off-device.
- Enable stealth before joining the call — nothing Aspera shows will appear in screen shares.
- Capture with the hotkeys configured in Settings — no visible overlay on the shared desktop.
- For hotkey defaults and settings see Hotkeys & stealth mode.
- For delivery channels see Off-device answers (chat, email, Telegram).
